ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Check
theengineoillevelandaddoilif
necessary.
1.Removethedipstick,wipeitclean,thenfullyinstall
thedipstick.
2.Removethedipstickandchecktheoillevel
(Figure40).IftheoillevelisbelowtheAddmark
onthedipstick,addoil.RefertoFillingtheEngine
withOil.

themifnecessary.
Checktheskidstoensurethattheaugerdoesnot
contactthepavedorgravelsurface.Adjusttheskidsas
neededtocompensateforwear.
1.Checkthetirepressure.RefertoCheckingtheTire
Pressure.
2.Movethesnowthrowertoalevelsurface.
3.Loosenthenutsthatsecurebothskidstothe
augersidesuntiltheskidsslideupanddowneasily
(Figure41).

scrapertomovefullyforward,thensetthefrontof
thesnowthrowerdownsothatthefrontedgeofthe
pivotingscrapercontactstheground(Figure42).

5.Movetheskidsdownuntiltheyareevenwiththe
ground.
Note:Forasmoothsurface,youcansettheskids
slightlyhighertoincreasethescrapingaction,but
settheskidsfarenoughdowntopreventtheauger
bladesfromcontactingtheground.
Note:Thepivotingscraperonthesnowthrower
isnotrecommendedforuseongravelsurfaces.
Butifyoumustusethesnowthroweronagravel
surface,adjusttheskidsfurtherdowntopreventthe
pivotingscraperfrompickinguprocks.
6.Firmlytightenthenutsthatsecurebothskidstothe
augersides.
Note:Iftheskidsbecomeexcessivelyworn,you
canturnthemoverandsettheunusedsidetoward
thepavement.
