ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Ifthesafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnected
ordamaged,thetractorcouldoperate
unexpectedly,causingpersonalinjury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthetractor.
UnderstandingtheSafetyInterlock
System
Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtopreventthe
enginefromstartingunless:
•Youaresittingontheseat.
•Thebrakepedalisdepressed.
•Thebladecontrol(PTO)isintheDisengage
position.
Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtostopthe
engineifyoudothefollowing:
•Yourisefromtheseatwhenthebrakepedalis
released.
•Yourisefromtheseatwhilethebladecontrol
(PTO)isintheEngageposition.
•Youshiftintoreversewhilethebladecontrol(PTO)
isintheEngageposition.
SettingtheKeyChoiceSwitchto
OperateinReverse
Aninterlockfeatureonthetractorpreventsthepower
take-off(PTO)fromoperatingwhenyoubackupthe
tractor.Ifyoushiftthetractioncontrolswitchinto
Reversewiththebladecontrol(PTO)engaged(i.e.,
withthemowerbladesorotherattachmentrunning),
theenginewillstop.Donotmowinreverseunlessit
isabsolutelynecessary.
Ifyouneedtousethebladecontrol(PTO)while
backingup,turnofftheinterlockfeatureusingthe
KeyChoiceswitchlocatedneartheseatbracket
(Figure11).
