1.Ifyouareinstallingnewlters,checkeachlter
forshippingdamage.
Note:Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifyouarereplacingtheinnerlter,carefullyslide
itintothelterbody(Figure43).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafety
lter(Figure43).
Note:Ensurethattheprimarylterisfully
seatedbypushingontheouterrimwhile
installingit.
Important:Donotpressonthesoft,inside
areaofthelter.
4.Installtheair-cleanercoverandsecurethe
latches(Figure43).
ServicingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Check
theengine-oillevel.
Every500hours—Changetheengineoiland
lter(moreoftenindirtyordustyconditions).

CheckingtheEngine-OilLevel
Note:Checktheoilwhentheengineiscold.
Important:Ifyouoverllorunderllthe
engine-oiltankwithoilandruntheengine,you
maydamagetheengine.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch(PTO),andengagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Cleantheareaaroundthedipstickandoil-ll
cap.
4.Removethedipstickandwipeitclean(Figure
44).
Note:Donottwistthedipstick.
