Procedures
Accessing the Machine
Some inter nal components can be accessed
b y simply raising the seat. Use the follo wing
procedures to access to the inter nal components
as needed when perfor ming the maintenance
procedures described in this man ual.
Removing the Engine Hood
R emo v e the engine hood to g ain access to the
engine compar tment. T o remo v e the engine hood
the collection bag m ust be emptied and remo v ed
first.
1. Empty the collection bag as desired.
2. P ark the mac hine on a lev el surface and
diseng ag e the blade control switc h.
3. Mo v e the motion control lev ers to the brak e
position, stop the engine , remo v e the k ey , and
w ait for all mo ving par ts to stop before lea ving
the operating position.
4. Grasp the collection bag at the front and rear
using the plastic hand holds . Pi v ot it up and
forw ard and then lift it out of the engine hood.

Note: T he rear access panel can be opened
when the collection bag is off the mac hine .
5. R emo v e the fasteners retaining the engine
hood to the mac hine frame ( Figure 24 ). R etain
all par ts .

6. Grasp the engine hood front and rear and lift
the engine hood off the frame ( Figure 25 ).

Removing the Engine Duct
R emo v e the fasteners securing the duct to the
mac hine frame and retain the fasteners . Lift the
duct out of the engine compar tment. Install the
duct as it w as remo v ed. Use the fasteners to secure
the duct to the frame .

Rear Access Panel
T he rear access panel is located on the bac k
of the mac hine frame and can be seen when
the collection bag is off . Loosen the fasteners
to remo v e the panel and access the engine
components ( Figure 27 ). Alw a ys mak e sure the
panel is re placed and secured with the fasteners
before operating the mac hine .
