1.Disengagethebladecontrolswitch,movethemotion
controlsoutwardtotheparkposition,stoptheengine,
andremovethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engine.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideofthe
enginecylinderheadnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewithmild
detergentandwater.Donotpressurewashthe
machine.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,especially
nearthecontrolpanel,undertheseat,aroundthe
engine,hydraulicpumps,andmotors.
3.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page24).
4.Greaseandoilthemachine;refertoLubrication(page
23).
5.Changethecrankcaseoilandlter;refertoChanging
theEngineOilandtheEngine-oilFilter(page25).
6.Checkthetirepressure;referto

7.Chargethebattery;refertoChargingtheBattery(page

8.Checktheconditionoftheblades;refertoServicing

9.Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-useoccurs
over30days.Preparethemachineforstorageas
follows.
10.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditionertothe
fuelinthetank.Followthemixinginstructionsfrom
thestabilizermanufacturer.Donotuseanalcohol
basedstabilizer(ethanolormethanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismosteffective
whenmixedwithfreshgasolineandusedatalltimes.
A.Runtheenginetodistributetheconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
B.Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrainthe
fueltank.
C.Starttheengineandrunituntilitstops.

11.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckitscondition;refer
toServicingtheSparkPlug(page26).Withthespark
plug(s)removedfromtheengine,pour2tablespoons
ofengineoilintothesparkplughole.Usethestarter
tocranktheengineanddistributetheoilinsidethe
cylinder.Installthesparkplug(s).Donotinstallthe
wireonthesparkplug(s).
12.Cleananydirtandchafffromthetopofthemower.
13.Scrapeanyheavybuildupofgrassanddirtfromthe
undersideofthemower,thenwashthemowerwith
agardenhose.
14.Checktheconditionofthedriveandmowerbelts.
15.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repairor
replaceanypartthatiswornordamaged.
16.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaceswithpaintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
17.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstoragearea.
Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchandkeepit
inamemorableplace.Coverthemachinetoprotect
itandkeepitclean.
