Cleanclippingsanddirtfromtheundersideofthe
moweraftereachuse.Ifgrassanddirtbuildupinside
themower,cuttingqualitywilleventuallybecome
unsatisfactory.
MaintainingtheBlade(s)
Maintainasharpbladethroughoutthecuttingseason
becauseasharpbladecutscleanlywithouttearingor
shreddingthegrassblades.T earingandshredding
turnsgrassbrownattheedges,whichslowsgrowth
andincreasesthechanceofdisease.Checkthe
mowerbladesaftereachuseforsharpness,and
foranywearordamage.Filedownanynicksand
sharpenthebladesasnecessary.Ifabladeis
damagedorworn,replaceitimmediatelywitha
genuineT ororeplacementblade.

mufers,andenginecompartmenttohelpprevent
res.Cleanupoilorfuelspills.
Shutoffthefuelbeforestoringortransportingthe
machine.
Disengagethedrivetotheattachmentwhenever
youaretransportingornotusingthemachine.
Usefull-widthrampsforloadingthemachineinto
atrailerortruck.
Tiethemachinedownsecurelyusingstraps,
chains,cable,orropes.Bothfrontandrearstraps
shouldbedirecteddownandoutwardfromthe
machine.
Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachine
inanyenclosure.
Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheateroronotherappliances.
PushingtheMachineby
Hand
Important:Alwayspushthemachinebyhand.Do
nottowthemachine,becausedamagemayoccur.
Thismachinehasanelectric-brakemechanism,and
topushthemachine,theignitionkeymustbein
theRUNposition.Thebatterymustbechargedand
functioningforyoutodisengagetheelectricbrake.
PushingtheMachine
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,and
disengagetheblade-controlswitch.
2.Engagetheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,
andwaitforallmovingpartstostopbefore
leavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Locatethebypassleversontheframeonboth
sidesoftheengine.
4.Movethebypassleversforwardthroughthekey
holeanddowntolocktheminplace(Figure21).

5.Turntheignitionkeyonanddisengagethe
parkingbrake.
