What to do if my Toro Lawn Mower engine does not start, starts hard, or fails to keep running?
    • J
      Jeffery HintonAug 13, 2025
If your Toro Lawn Mower engine is not starting, starts with difficulty, or doesn't stay running, check the following: ensure the fuel tank is full; make sure the choke is on; verify the air cleaner is not dirty (clean or replace it if it is); check that the spark plug wire(s) is securely connected; inspect the spark plug(s) and replace if pitted, fouled, or incorrectly gapped; and ensure the oil level in the crankcase is adequate, adding oil if low. Also, make sure that you are using the proper fuel type. If there is incorrect fuel, drain the tank and replace it with the proper type. If you find dirt in the fuel filter, replace it. For issues related to dirt, water, or stale fuel in the fuel system, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

Why is the cutting height uneven on my Toro Lawn Mower?
    • C
      Christina SimmonsAug 17, 2025
Uneven cutting height on your Toro Lawn Mower can result from several factors: the blade(s) may not be sharp, so sharpen them; a cutting blade(s) may be bent, so replace it; the mower might not be level, so level it from side-to-side and front-to-rear; an anti-scalp wheel may not be set correctly, so adjust its height; the underside of the mower may be dirty, so clean it; or the tire pressure may be incorrect, so adjust it. If a blade spindle is bent, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

Why does my Toro Lawn Mower engine lose power?
    • J
      julie43Aug 21, 2025
If your Toro Lawn Mower engine is losing power, consider these potential causes: the engine load may be too high, so reduce the ground speed; the air cleaner might be dirty, so clean it; the oil level in the crankcase could be low, so add oil; the cooling fins and air passages under the engine blower housing may be blocked, so remove any obstructions; or the spark plug(s) may be faulty, so install a new one. Also, ensure the fuel tank is using the proper fuel type, and replace the fuel filter if it is dirty. For issues related to dirt, water, or stale fuel in the fuel system, contact an Authorized Service Dealer. If the fuel tank vent is blocked, there is no suggested solution.

    • P
      phernandezAug 26, 2025
If the blades on your Toro Lawn Mower are not rotating, it could be due to: a worn, loose, or broken drive belt, so install a new one; the drive belt being off of the pulley, so install the drive belt and check the adjusting shafts and belt guides for the correct position; or a worn, loose, or broken mower belt, so install a new mower belt. If the Power Take-Off (PTO) switch or PTO clutch is faulty, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
