CleaningandStorage
1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch,movethe
motion-controlsoutwardtothePARKposition,
stoptheengine,andremovethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especially
theengine.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutside
oftheenginecylinderheadnsandblower
housing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.Donotpressure
washthemachine.Avoidexcessiveuse
ofwater,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,
undertheseat,aroundtheengine,hydraulic
pumps,andmotors.
3.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page32).
4.Greaseandoilthemachine;refertothe
Lubrication(page31).
5.Changethecrankcaseoilandlter;referto
ChangingtheEngineOilandOilFilter(page34).
6.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressure(page41).
7.Chargethebattery;refertoChargingtheBattery
(page40).
8.Checktheconditionoftheblades;referto
ServicingtheCuttingBlades(page42).
9.Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-use
occursover30days.Preparethemachinefor
storageasfollows.
10.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditioner
tothefuelinthetank.Followthemixing
instructionsfromthestabilizermanufacturer.Do
notuseanalcoholbasedstabilizer(ethanolor
methanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshgasolineand
usedatalltimes.
Runtheenginetodistributetheconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
Important:Donotstore
stabilizer/conditionedgasolineover90days.
11.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckits
condition;refertoServicingtheSparkPlug
(page36)intheEngineMaintenancesection.
Withthesparkplug(s)removedfromtheengine,
pour2tablespoonsofengineoilintothespark
plughole.Usethestartertocranktheengine
anddistributetheoilinsidethecylinder.Install
