ServiceInterval:Every500hours/Yearly(whichever
comesrst)
1.Disengagethebladecontrolswitch(PTO),movethe
motioncontrolleverstotheneutrallockedposition
andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Removethedustcapfromcasterandtightenlock
nut(
Figure64).
4.Tightenthelocknutuntilthespringwashersareat
andthenbackoffa1/4turntoproperlysetthe
pre-loadonthebearings(Figure64).
Important:Makesurethespringwashersare
installedcorrectlyasshowninFigure64.
5.Installthedustcap(Figure64).

UsingtheClutchShim
Somelatermodelyearunitshavebeenbuiltwithclutches
thatcontainabrakeshim.Whentheclutchbrakehas
worntothepointwheretheclutchnolongerengages
consistently,theshimcanberemovedtoextendthe
clutchlife.
