  If the engine of your Toro Lawn Mower does not start, starts hard, or fails to keep running, here are some things to check: * Ensure the fuel tank is full. * Open the fuel shutoff valve. * Add oil to the crankcase if the oil level is low. * Position the throttle control midway between the “SLOW” and “FAST” positions. * Replace the fuel filter if it's dirty. * Clean or replace the air cleaner element if it is dirty. * Check the seat switch indicator and replace if needed. * Check the electrical connections for good contact; clean the connector terminals thoroughly with electrical contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and reconnect. * Clean, adjust, or replace the spark plug if it is faulty. * Check the spark plug wire connection.
