14.Onbothsidesofthedeck,measurefromthelevel
surfacetothebacktipoftheblade(PostionB).Ensure
themeasurementis8.3cm(3-1/4inches)(Figure91).
15.Finetunethescrewadjusterbyturningittoget8.3
mm(3-1/4inches)height(Figure92).
Toincreasetheheight,turntheadjustmentnut
clockwise;todecrease,turncounterclockwise.
16.Measureuntilallfoursidesarethecorrectheight.
Tightenallthenutsonthedeckliftarmassemblies.
ServicingtheCuttingBlades
Important:Theright-handbladeonthismowerdeck
iscounter-rotatingandusesaleft-handthreadedblade
bolt.UseFigure99forthecorrectplacementofthe
mowerblades.
Maintainsharpbladesthroughoutthecuttingseasonbecause
sharpbladescutcleanlywithouttearingorshreddingthegrass
blades.Tearingandshreddingturnsgrassbrownattheedges,
whichslowsgrowthandincreasesthechanceofdisease.
Checkthecutterbladesdailyforsharpness,andforany
wearordamage.Filedownanynicksandsharpenthe
bladesasnecessary.Ifabladeisdamagedorworn,replace
itimmediatelywithagenuineTororeplacementblade.For
convenientsharpeningandreplacement,youmaywantto
keepextrabladesonhand.
DANGER
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrownintotheoperator's
orbystander'sarea,resultinginseriouspersonal
injuryordeath.
Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
BeforeInspectingorServicingthe
Blades
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengagethe
blade-controlswitch(PTO),andsettheparkingbrake.Turn
theignitionkeytoOff.Removethekey.
InspectingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure96).Iftheedges
arenotsharporhavenicks,removeandsharpenthe
blades.RefertoSharpeningtheBlades(page60).
2.Inspecttheblades,especiallythecurvedarea(Figure
96).Ifyounoticeanydamage,wear,oraslotforming
inthisarea(Figure96),immediatelyinstallanewblade.

1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),movethe
motion-controlleverstotheneutral-lockedposition
andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Rotatethebladesuntiltheendsfaceforwardand
backward(Figure97).Measurefromalevelsurfaceto
thecuttingedge,positionA,oftheblades(Figure97).
