Tostopthemachine,movethetraction-controllevers
toneutral,andthenmovethemtothelockedposition,
disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),andturn
theignitionkeytotheOFFposition.
Engagetheparkingbrakewhenyouleavethe
machine;refertoEngagingtheParkingBrake(page
20).Remembertoremovethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
CAUTION
Childrenorbystandersmaybeinjuredifthey
moveorattempttooperatethemachinewhile
itisunattended.
Alwaysremovetheignitionkeyandengage
theparkingbrakewhenleavingthemachine
unattended,evenifjustforafewminutes.
UsingtheSideDischarge
Themowerhasahingedgrassdeectorthat
dispersesclippingstothesideanddowntowardthe
turf.
DANGER
Withoutagrassdeector,dischargecover,or
acompletegrass-catcherassemblymounted
inplace,youandothersareexposedtoblade
contactandthrowndebris.Contactwith
rotatingmowerblade(s)andthrowndebris
willcauseinjuryordeath.
Neverremovethegrassdeectorfrom
themowerbecausethegrassdeector
routesmaterialdowntowardtheturf.Ifthe
grassdeectoriseverdamaged,replaceit
immediately.
Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthe
mower.
Nevertrytoclearthedischargearea
ormowerbladesunlessyoumovethe
blade-controlswitch(PTO)totheOFF
position,rotatetheignitionkeytotheOFF
position,andremovethekey.
Makesurethatthegrassdeectorisinthe
downposition.
AdjustingtheHeightofCut
UsingtheTransportLock
Thetransportlockhas2positions,andisusedwith
thedeck-liftpedal.ThereisaLOCKpositionanda
UNLOCKpositionforthetransportposition(Figure26).
