Ifyouseelightbrownorgrayontheinsulator,the
engineisoperatingproperly.Ablackcoatingonthe
insulatorusuallymeansthattheaircleanerisdirty.
Setthegapto0.76mm(0.030inches).

Firemayresultinpersonalinjuryorproperty

1.Shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartsto
stop,removethekey,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Waitforthemufertocool.
3.Ifthereareanybreaksinthescreenorwelds
areobserved,replacethearrester.
4.Ifthescreenisplugged,removethearrester
andshakelooseparticlesoutofthearrester,
andcleanthescreenwithawirebrush(soakin
solventifnecessary).
5.Installthearresterontheexhaustoutlet.

InspectingtheLPGSystem
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Check
theLPGtankandcomponents.
Every40hours—ChecktheLPGhoses,
regulator,andconnections.
ItisveryimportanttochecktheLPGtankand
componentsforwearorleaks.
Important:Nevercheckforleaksusinganopen
ame.
Important:Neverusebarehandswhenchecking
thettingorvalve.EscapingLPGvaporandliquid
freezesskinoncontact.
InspectingtheSystemBefore
EachUse
1.Visuallyinspectthetank,hose,andttingand
bealerttoafoulodorcomingfromthetank.
DonotusetheLPGsystemifthehosesare
abraded,damaged,kinked,orattened.
2.EnsurethattheLPGtankisfreeofdentsor
damage.Ifthetankshowssignsofdentsor
damage,replaceitimmediately.
3.Checkthevalveandttingopeningsfordirtand
debris.
4.Slowlyopenthevalveallthewayandlistenfor
acontinuoushissfromtheregulator,whichmay
indicatealeak.
LPGhasarotteneggorskunksmelladdedto
ittohelpdetectagasleak.Ifyoudetectagas
leak:
•TurnofftheLPGvalveifyoucansafelydo
so.
•Leavethearea.
•Contacttrainedandqualiedpersonnel
immediately.
5.Ensurethatthetankissecurelymountedtothe
mower.Ifthetankisloose,thehoseorttings
mayleak.
InspectingtheSystemWithEach
TankChange
1.Checkallgauges,ttings,andvalvesfor
damage.
2.Lookfordeteriorationandwornormissing
O-ringsonthetankconnectiontting.
