Useonlyapprovedfuellinesandfuellters.
ServicingtheElectronic
Fuel-InjectionSystem
Thismachinecontainsanelectronicfuel-injectionsystem.It
controlsthefuelowunderdifferentoperatingconditions.
Theelectroniccontrolunit(ECU)continuouslymonitorsthe
operationoftheEFIsystem.
Ifaproblemorfaultwithinthesystemisdetected,the
malfunctionindicatorlight(MIL)illuminates.TheMIListhe
redlightlocatedintherightconsolepanel.
OncetheMILilluminates,makeinitialtroubleshooting
checks.RefertotheMILsectionunderTroubleshooting
(page70).
Ifthesechecksdonotcorrecttheproblem,furtherdiagnosis
andservicingbyanAuthorizedServiceDealerisnecessary.
ReplacingtheLow-Pressure
FuelFilter
ServiceInterval:Every200hours/Yearly(whichevercomes
rst)
Thefuellterislocatedneartheengineonthefrontorrear
sideoftheengine.
1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),movethe
motion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,
andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Waitforthemachinetocooldown.
4.Closethefuel-shutoffvalveundertheseat(Figure56).

ServicingtheHigh-Pressure
FuelFilter
Donotattempttoservicethehigh-pressurefuellter.The
high-pressurelterisintegratedwithinthefuel-pumpmodule.
Thefuellterandothercomponentsinsidethefuel-pump
modulearenotserviceable.
Important:Donotattempttoopenthefuel-pump
module.
EnsurethatanAuthorizedServiceDealerreplacesthe
fuel-pumpmodulewiththehigh-pressurefuellter.
ServicingtheFuelTank
Donotattempttodrainthefueltank.Ensurethatan
AuthorizedServiceDealerdrainsthefueltank.
