Checkthatthebrakeisadjustedproperlybefore
adjusting.
1.Drivethemachineontoalevelsurface.
2.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position,andengagetheparkingbrake.
3.Shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartsto
stop,andremovethekey.
4.Raisethebackofthemachineandsupportthe
machinewithjackstands.
DANGER
Mechanicalorhydraulicjacksmayfail
tosupportmachineandcauseaserious
injury.
Useajackstandwhensupportingthe
machine.
Donotusehydraulicjacks.
5.Removethereartiresfromthemachine.
6.Removeanydebrisfromthebrakearea.
7.Rotatethedrive-wheelreleasehandleto
thereleasedposition.RefertoUsingthe
Drive-WheelReleaseValves(page33).
8.Checkifthereisavisiblegapbetweenthe
L-bracketandthelinkagestop(Figure82).

C.Connecttherear-linkageassembly.
12.Engagetheparkingbrakeandcheckthegap.
13.Repeatsteps9through13untilyouachievea
visiblegapandthewheelhubrotatesfreely.
14.Repeatthisprocedureforthebrakeonthe
oppositeside.
15.Rotatethedrive-wheelreleasehandleto
theoperatingposition;refertoUsingthe
Drive-WheelReleaseValves(page33).
16.Installthereartiresandtorquethelugnuts;
refertoCheckingtheWheelLugNuts(page54).
17.Removethejackstands.
