Alwayswearanapproveddustmaskwhenusingthemachine
industyconditions.
Keepyourface,hands,andfeetawayfromthemachine
housingandthebladewhilethemotorisrunning.Theblade
caninjurehandsandfeet.Staybehindthehandleuntilthe
motorstops.
Neverdirectdischargedmaterialtowardanyone.Avoid
dischargingmaterialagainstawallorobstruction.Material
mayricochetbacktowardyou.Stopthebladewhencrossing
gravelsurfaces.
Useextremecautionwhenreversingorpullingthemachine
towardyou.Beforeandwhilemovingbackward,lookbehind
anddown.
Sincethebladerotatesforafewsecondsafteryoureleasethe
controlbar,staybehindthehandleuntilallmovingpartsstop.
Afterstrikingaforeignobjectorifthemachinevibrates
abnormally,stopthemotorandremovethekeyfromtheplug
receptacle.Checkthemachinefordamageandmakeall
repairsbeforeusingthemachineagain.Ifmajorrepairsare
everneededorifassistanceisdesired,contactanAuthorized
ToroServiceDealer.
Donotoperatethemachineifithasbeendroppedor
damagedinanyway.Repairanydamagebeforeoperating
themachine.
Stopthemotor,waitforallmovingpartstostop,andremove
thekeyfromtheplugreceptaclebeforeadjustingthe
height-of-cut.
Stopthemotorwhenpushingthemachineoutsidethelawn
area.
Stopthemotorandremovethekeyfromtheplugreceptacle
beforeremovingthegrasscatcher.
Stopmotorbeforeleavingtheoperator’sposition—behind
thehandle.Removethekeyfromtheplugreceptacleifthe
machinewillbeunattended.
Ifyoumustliftortransportthemachine,stopthemotor,stay
behindthehandleuntilallmovingpartsstopandremovethe
keyfromtheplugreceptacle.
MaintenanceandStorage
Performonlythosemaintenanceinstructionsdescribedinthis
manual.Ifmajorrepairsareeverneededorifassistanceis
desired,contactanAuthorizedT oroServiceDealer.
Beforeyouclean,inspect,service,oradjustthemachine,
stopthemotorandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.Remove
thekeyfromtheplugreceptacle.
Donotchargethemachineinrainorinwetlocations.
Topreventelectricshockwhilecharging,repairorreplaceany
damagedelectricalcordsimmediately.
Note:Thebatterychargerisneededonlytorechargethe
battery.Itisnotusedformowingwiththemachine.
Don’tabusethecordwhilecharging.Donotyankthecordto
removeitfromplugreceptacle.Keepthecordawayfrom
heat,oilandsharpedges.
Removekeybeforeservicing,cleaning,orremovingmaterial
fromthemachine.
Donotdisposeofthebatteryinare;thecellmayexplode.
Checkwithlocalcodesforspecialdisposalinstructions.
Donotopenormutilatethebattery.Releasedelectrolyteis
corrosiveandmaycausedamagetotheeyesorskin.Itmay
betoxicifswallowed.
Exercisecareinhandlingbatteriesinordernottoshortthe
battery(contactbothpositiveandnegativebatteryposts)with
conductingmaterialssuchasrings,bracelets,andkeys.The
batteryorconductormayoverheatandcauseburns.
Toensurethatthemachineisinsafeoperatingcondition,
frequentlycheckandkeepallnuts,bolts,andscrewstight.
Ensurethatthebladeboltistightenedto40to50ft-lb(54to
68N-m).
Alwayskeepasharpbladeonyourmachine.Whenservicing
theblade,refertotheblademaintenancesectionfor
correctinstallationandservicingprocedures.Useidentical
replacementbladesonly.
Toreducerehazard,keepthemotorfreeofexcessivegrass,
leaves,andaccumulationsofdirt.
Checkthegrasscatcherbagfrequentlyforwearor
deterioration.Replaceawornordamagedbagwithan
identicalT ororeplacementbagonlyforyourprotection.
Whenyouarenotusingthemachine,removethekeyand
storethemachineindoorsinadry,locked-upplaceoutof
thereachofchildren.Allowthemotortocoolbeforestoring
themachineinanenclosure.
Atthetimeofmanufacture,thismachineconformedtothe
safetystandardsineffectforrotarymowers.Toassure
bestperformanceandcontinuedsafetycerticationof
themachine,usegenuineTororeplacementpartsand
accessories.Replacementpartsandaccessoriesmadeby
othermanufacturersmayresultinnon-conformancewiththe
safetystandards,andthatcouldbedangerous.
