Theswitchislocateddirectlyunderthebrakepedalassembly.Themanual
parkingbrakeswitchisaninputtotheT1:primarycontroller.Theswitchis
anormallyopenproximityswitchthatcloseswhenthefootactuatedparking
brakeisdisengaged(theparkingbrakelatchisincloseproximitytotheswitch).
Themanualparkingbrakeswitchispartofthesafetyinterlocksystem;referto
CheckingtheInterlockSystemOperation(page5–19)forabetterunderstanding
ofhowtheswitchisused.
TestingtheManualParkingBrakeSwitch
Themanualparkingbrakeswitchanditscircuitwiringcanbetestedusingthe
maininformationscreenoftheInfoCenterDisplay;refertoInfoCenterDisplay
(page5–33)(P)icon.Iftestingdeterminesthattheswitchandcircuitwiringare
notfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththefollowingtestprocedure:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunitsandsetthekey
switchtotheOFFposition.
2.SetthekeyswitchtotheONpositionandcheckLEDonthecableendof
themanualparkingbrakeswitch.TheLEDshouldbeilluminatedwhenthe
manualparkingbrakeisdisengaged.TheLEDshouldnotbeilluminated
whenthemanualparkingbrakeisengaged.SetthekeyswitchtotheOFF
position.
3.IftheswitchLEDdoesnotfunctioncorrectly:
A.Checkthemanualparkingbrakeswitchadjustmentandadjustif
necessary;refertoAdjustingtheManualParkingBrakeSwitch(page
5–22).
