Usethethrottlelever(Figure19)tocontroltheengine
speed.Movingthethrottleleverforwardtowardthe
FASTpositionincreasestheenginespeed.Moving
thethrottleleverrearwardtowardtheSLOWposition
decreasestheenginespeed.Thethrottlelever
controlsthespeedofthebladesand,inconjunction
withtractionpedal,controlsgroundspeedofthe
machine.ThedetentislocatedattheHIGH-IDLE
position.
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(Figure19)recordsanddisplays
accumulatedhoursofengineoperation.
CoolantTemperature-Warning
Light
Whentheenginecoolanttemperaturerises
abovenormaloperatinglimit,thecoolant
temperature-warninglight(Figure19)illuminatesand
themachinestopsoperationoftheimplement.Ifthe
coolanttemperaturerisesanother7°C(20°F)after
thetemperature-warninglightilluminates,theengine
shutsoff.Operatetheengineatlowidletoallowthe
coolanttoreturntothenormal-operatingrange.If
thewarninglightcontinuestoilluminate,shutoffthe
engineanddeterminethecauseofthehighcoolant
temperature.
Glow-PlugIndicator
Whenglow-plugindicatorilluminates,theglowplugs
areenergized(Figure19).
