1. Blade control bar
Start tile engine using either the igxfition key or the
recoil starter (Figure 17).

If the mower does not start in 1 or 2 pulls (or within
5 seconds using the electric starter), press the primer
button 1 or 2 times and tr) starting it again.
Note: If tile mower still does not start, contact an
Authorized Service Dealer.
Using the Self-propel Drive
(To operate tile self-propel drive, simply walk with xour
hands on tile upper handle and _our, elbows at your, sides,
and tile mower will automaticalh keep pace with xou
(Figure i8).

Stopping the Engine
To stop tile engine, release tile blade control bar (Figure 19).
Remove the ignition ke) when you leave the mower.
Important: When you release the blade control
bar, both the engine and blade should stop within 3
seconds. If they do not stop properly, stop using your
mower immediately and contact an Authorized Service
Dealer.

Recycling the Clippings
_X_urmower comes from tile factory readx to recycle tile
grass and leaf clippings back into tile lawn.
If tile grass bag is on tile mower, remove it (refer to
Removing tile Grass Bag) before rec3 cling tile clippilgs. If
tile side discharge chute is on tile mower, remove it and
lock tile side discharge door (refer to Removixg tile Side
Discllarge Clmte) before recycling the clippilgs.
Important: Ensure that the rear discharge plug is in
place before you recycle the clippings (Figure 20).

Bagging the Clippings
Use tile grass bag when 3ou want to collect grass and leaf
clippings from the lawn.
A worn grass bag could allow small stones and
other similar debris to be thrown in the operator's or
bystander's direction and result in serious personal
injury or death to the operator or bystanders.
Check the grass bag frequently. If it is damaged,
install a new Toro replacement bag.
