During reassembly of the spindle housing, install
the bearings with the shield to the outside.

On 52” decks, the bearings are a line to line fit in
the spindle housings and can be installed by
hand.
On 44” decks, the bearings must be installed
with a press.
On the blade side of the spindle housing, locate
the bearing flush with the counterbore.
