2.Installthespringdiskandbladebolt(Figure
113).
Note:Thespring-diskconemustbeinstalled
towardthebolthead(Figure113).
3.Torquethebladeboltto115to150N∙m(85to
110ft-lb).

•Neveroperatethemachineunlessyou
installacoverplate,amulchplate,ora
grasschuteandcatcher.
•Makesurethatthegrassdeectorisinthe
downposition.
1.Removethelocknut,bolt,springandspacer
holdingthedeectortothepivotbrackets
(Figure114).
2.Removethedamagedorworngrassdeector.
3.Placethespacerandspringontothegrass
deector.PlacetheLendofthespringbehind
thedeckedge.
Note:MakesurethattheLendofthespringis
installedbehindthedeckedgebeforeinstalling
theboltasshowninFigure114
4.Installtheboltandnut.
5.PlacetheJ-hookendofthespringaroundthe
grassdeector(Figure114).
Important:Thegrassdeectormustbeable
tolowerintoposition.Liftthedeectorupto
testthatitlowersintothefull-downposition.
