Recovering the Internal Storage Drive
11 Click or touch OK again to agree to remove the HDD
recovery data.
You will see the message, “The HDD recovery data has
been removed and the new Windows partition D: has
been created.”
12 Click
OK to finish.
You will be asked to format the disk.
13 If you wish to format the disk, click or touch the
Format
disk
button.
14 Click or touch
Start to format the Start button.
15 Click or touch
OK when prompted to format the disk.
16 Click or touch
OK when completed.
17 Click or touch
Close to close the Format utility.

The recovery process deletes information stored on the
internal storage drive. Be sure to save your work to
external media before executing the recovery (see
“Backing up your work” on page 83).
During the recovery process your device must be
connected to an external power source via the AC
adaptor.
If you have created a recovery drive for your system, you can
restore your system from this drive, if necessary. For
example, if your original internal storage drive fails, you can
restore your system to a new internal storage drive from your
recovery drive. For instructions on creating a recovery drive,
see “Creating a recovery drive using Toshiba Recovery
Media Creator” on page 55.
NOTE
