Procedure 3 Connector Check and Replacement Check
The CD-ROM drive is connected to the system board and sound board by the CD-ROM drive
cable. This cable may be damaged or disconnected from the system board. Disassemble the
T2150 series following the steps described in Chapter 4, Replacement Procedures, and per-
form the following checks:
Check 1 Make sure the CD-ROM cable is firmly connected to the system board.
CD-ROM drive PJ3
System board
PJ6
Sound board
If this cable is disconnected, connect it to the system unit and repeat Procedure 2.
If the CD-ROM is still not functioning properly, perform Check 2.
Check 2 The CD-ROM drive or its cable may be defective or damaged. Replace the CD-
ROM drive with a new one following the steps in Chapter 4, Replacement Proce-
dures. If the CD-ROM drive is still not functioning properly, perform Check 3.
Check 3 Replace the system board with a new one following the steps in chapter 4.
