Similar to DLI, DIS is the system to distribute the high voltage directly to the spark plugs from ignition coils
without using a distributor
. There are various types of current DIS systems, including those in which an igni-
tion coil is provided for each cylinder and those in which an ignition coil is provided for every two cylinders
(See Step 2, Vol
. 3, "Ignition System")
. The electrical circuitry shown here is for the type in which an igni-
tion coil is provided for each cylinder
