Protection circuit
The Protection circuit guards against damage caused by short-circuit, over-
heating and overloading. If a problem occurs, the protection circuit switches the
output signal off, the loudspeaker output buttons ( and ) start to flash, and
the screen displays a message: either ‘Protection’ or ‘Overheat’, according to
the type of problem.
The message ‘Overheat’ indicates that the amplifier has become too hot. If this
should occur, the machine should be left switched off for a generous period in
order to cool down. Ensure that there is an adequate flow of cooling air to and
from the machine. It will not be possible to switch the machine on again until it
has cooled down to the appropriate temperature.
If the screen displays the message ‘Protection’, this means that either a short-
circuit or an overload situation has occurred. In this case please reduce the
volume setting on the amplifier. If the machine has been overloaded, it should
switch itself on again after a brief interval, and the buttons will then stop
flashing. If the amplifier does not switch itself on again after a while, there may
be a short-circuit in the loudspeaker leads. Switch the machine off and check
the wiring of the devices and the loudspeakers.
