PRE OUT
Symmetrical (XLR) and asymmetrical (Cinch / RCA) pre-amplifier output for
connecting external output stages or active loudspeakers.
A and B
Loudspeaker terminals
The PA 3000 HV is equipped with two pairs of loudspeaker terminals. The
terminals are plated with a layer of highly conductive, corrosion-resistant
rhodium in order to ensure excellent electrical contact with minimum transfer
resistance.
Always use high-quality loudspeaker cable with forked speaker lugs to connect
your loudspeakers.
Bi-Wiring
The two pairs of terminals are ideally suited for use in the bi-wiring arrangement
in conjunction with high-quality loudspeakers. For bi-wiring mode connect the
bass range to output A, and the mid-range / treble range to output B (see wiring
diagram on page 53).
Dual-zone mode
Alternatively two pairs of speakers can be connected to the machine (dual-zone
mode). The impedance of each speaker must not be lower than 4 (DIN
rating).
The speaker outlets A and B can be switched optionally together (Bi-Wiring) or
separately (Dual-Zone). (see. chap. 'Basic settings of the PA 3000 HV')
Caution!
The output stages are designed to cope with a minimum load of 2 , but conti-
nuous operation at very high volume produces high currents in the power output
stages which can lead to overheating. This in turn trips the protective circuit which
switches the amplifier off automatically.
Make sure that the terminals are firmly screwed down, and that no short-circuits
are possible as a result of projecting cable ends or errant wire strands.
LAN
Interface for diagnosis work and computer-controlled operation of device
functions. (Home-Automations-Systems e. g. CRESTRON, AMX).
H LINK
Control output for devices with H LINK inputs.
TRIGGER
The PA 3000 HV can be turned on and off by means of a switching voltage (+5
… +20 Volt) connected to this socket. If the trigger function is used to switch the
PA 3000 HV on, it is automatically set to the source previously selected in the
menu (see chapter entitled Basic settings of the PA 3000 HV)
Connector assignment (3.5 mm jack plug)
The Trigger function can be switched on and off in the Amplifier menu.
See chapter entitled Basic settings of the PA 3000 HV.
RC IN
If you wish to control the machine from an adjacent room, or if there is no line-
of-sight connection to the integral remote control receiver fitted to the
PA 3000 HV (cupboard doors, etc.), then the accessories E2000 remote
control receiver can be connected to this socket.
Mains input
This socket is for mains connection.
For correct connection refer to the sections 'Installation and Wiring' and
'Safety Notes'.
