Questions and Answers

  • Q
    qcookAug 21, 2025
Why are the readings unstable on my TPS pH Cube?
    • S
      Scott RomeroAug 21, 2025
Unstable readings on your TPS Measuring Instruments can occur due to several reasons: * A blocked reference junction: Clean the reference junction as per the instructions supplied with the sensor. * A dirty glass bulb: Clean the glass bulb as per the instructions supplied with the sensor. * A bubble in the glass bulb: Flick the sensor to remove the bubble. * A faulty connection to the meter: Check the connectors and replace if necessary. * The reference junction not being immersed: Ensure that the bulb AND the reference junction are fully immersed. * KCl crystals around the reference junction, inside the electrolyte chamber: Rinse the electrolyte chamber with warm distilled water until dissolved.

What does “-1” mean on my TPS Measuring Instruments?
    • J
      Jennifer McclureSep 3, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments displays “-1”, the pH reading is over-ranged. The pH sensor might not be connected or could be faulty. Replace the sensor if necessary.
  • J
    Jamie TorresSep 1, 2025
Why does my TPS pH Cube display 4-5 pH for all solutions?
    • P
      paula53Sep 1, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments displays 4-5 pH for all solutions, the glass bulb or internal stem may be cracked. Replace the sensor.
  • A
    Amanda LambAug 31, 2025
Why does my TPS pH Cube Measuring Instruments display around pH7.00 for all solutions?
    • B
      Brenda ChanAug 31, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments displays around pH7.00 for all solutions, there might be an electrical short in the connector. Check the connector and replace it if necessary. Alternatively, the sensor may need replacement.
  • J
    Jasmine MunozAug 29, 2025
What does “-1” mean on my TPS pH Cube Measuring Instruments in temperature mode?
    • J
      Jamie LopezAug 29, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments reads “-1” in Temperature mode, the temperature sensor may be connected but faulty. Check the temperature sensor connector and replace it if necessary. If the problem persists, replace the temperature sensor (part no 121245).
  • T
    Tina ClarkAug 27, 2025
Why temperature readings do not vary on TPS Measuring Instruments?
    • J
      John CaseyAug 28, 2025
If the temperature readings on your TPS Measuring Instruments do not vary and the Manual Temp control is active even when the temperature sensor is plugged in, it could be due to: * A faulty connector: Check the connector and replace it if necessary. * An incorrect temperature sensor. * A faulty temperature sensor: Fit a new temperature sensor, part number 121245.

    matthewlyonsAug 27, 2025
What to do if asymmetry calibration fails on my TPS pH Cube?
    • D
      David PatelAug 27, 2025
If asymmetry calibration fails on your TPS Measuring Instruments (asymmetry is greater than +/-1.00 pH), it could be due to: * A blocked reference junction: Clean the reference by immersing the probe in hot water (60°C) for a few minutes. Proteins can be cleaned off using a pepsin solution. * Contaminated reference electrolyte: Replace the electrolyte if using a refillable sensor.
  • N
    Nathan SanchezAug 25, 2025
How to fix slope calibration failure on TPS pH Cube Measuring Instruments?
    • S
      Sarah BishopAug 25, 2025
A failed slope calibration (less than 85.0%) on your TPS Measuring Instruments can be due to: * A dirty glass bulb: Clean the glass bulb as per the instructions supplied with the sensor. * An aged sensor: Attempt rejuvenation as per the instructions supplied with the sensor. If not successful, replace the sensor. * A damp connector: Dry it in a warm place. * Inaccurate buffers: Replace the buffers.
  • R
    Robert YatesAug 23, 2025
What to do if my TPS pH Cube give inaccurate readings, even after successful calibration?
    • T
      Timothy HigginsAug 23, 2025
If you are getting inaccurate readings from your TPS Measuring Instruments after calibration, the reference junction might be blocked. Try cleaning the reference junction by immersing the probe in hot water (60°C) for a few minutes.
