How to fix no display on TPS Measuring Instruments?
    • J
      john59Aug 15, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instrument's display is not working, first, ensure the mains power is switched ON. Next, check the power connections to make sure they are correctly connected. If the problem persists, the instrument may be faulty and should be returned to TPS for repair.

Why are the readings unstable on my TPS miniCHEM-pH?
    • K
      kbarnettAug 18, 2025
Unstable readings on your TPS Measuring Instruments can occur due to several reasons: 1. The solution guard may not be fitted properly; connect the green wire from the ATC (or solution guard rod if no ATC sensor is fitted), to terminal 3. 2. The reference junction or glass bulb may be dirty; clean them as per instructions supplied with the electrode. 3. There might be a bubble in the glass bulb; flick the electrode to remove it. 4. The reference junction may not be immersed; ensure that the bulb AND the reference junction are fully immersed. 5. KCl crystals may be present around reference junction inside the electrolyte chamber; rinse the electrolyte chamber with warm distilled water until dissolved and replace the electrolyte.

What to do if TPS miniCHEM-pH Measuring Instruments have an incorrect analogue output signal?
    • Y
      ymeadowsAug 21, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments are showing an incorrect analogue output signal, check the following: 1. Verify that the Current/Voltage Output jumpers are correctly set for 4-20mA or 0-1V, and adjust if necessary. 2. Ensure the 4-20mA loop resistance does not exceed 500 Ohms. 3. Make sure the load on the 0-1V DC output is a minimum of 1000 Ohms. 4. Calibrate the 4-20mA output. If the issue persists, the instrument may be faulty and should be returned to TPS for repair.

Why does the span calibration fail on my TPS miniCHEM-pH?
    • C
      Catherine CochranAug 26, 2025
A span calibration failure on TPS Measuring Instruments with insufficient range can occur due to: 1. The ATC probe not being connected; connect it to terminals 1 & 2. 2. A dirty glass bulb; clean it as per instructions supplied with the electrode. 3. An aged electrode; attempt rejuvenation as per instructions supplied with the electrode, or replace it if necessary. 4. Inaccurate buffers; replace them.

Why doesn't the alarm LED work on my TPS Measuring Instruments?
    • D
      Diana MillerAug 28, 2025
If the alarm LED or optional relay output on your TPS Measuring Instruments does not operate when the limit is exceeded, it could be due to the following: 1. The limit may not be set correctly for “too high” or “too low” alarm/control; set the Lo/Hi Output jumpers correctly. 2. The optional relay output may not be fitted; return the unit to the factory to have the relay output fitted (part no 130342). 3. The hysteresis may be too large; check and adjust the HYSTERESIS trimmer, setting it to the minimum level if unsure. 4. A blown fuse; check and replace the fuse if necessary. If the problem continues, the instrument may be faulty and should be returned to TPS for repair.

What to do if TPS miniCHEM-pH show inaccurate readings after calibration?
    • T
      Tabitha EwingSep 1, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments provide inaccurate readings even after successful calibration, the reference junction may be blocked. Clean the reference junction as per the instructions supplied with the electrode.
  • B
    Brian KaneSep 4, 2025
What causes asymmetry calibration failure in TPS miniCHEM-pH?
    • M
      Matthew RiveraSep 4, 2025
Asymmetry (Zero) calibration failure with insufficient range on your TPS Measuring Instruments can be caused by: 1. A blocked reference junction; clean it as per instructions supplied with the electrode. 2. Contaminated reference electrolyte; flush with distilled water and replace the electrolyte.
  • R
    Rebecca GardnerSep 7, 2025
Why do TPS miniCHEM-pH Measuring Instruments display around 7 pH in all solutions?
    • K
      Kathryn LopezSep 7, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments consistently display around 7 pH in all solutions, there may be an electrical short inside the electrode or cable. Test the system with a new electrode and replace the old one if necessary.
  • S
    sguzmanSep 10, 2025
What to do if TPS Measuring Instruments display 4-5 pH for all solutions?
    • J
      jacqueline52Sep 12, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments display 4-5 pH for all solutions, the glass bulb or internal stem may be cracked. Replace the electrode.
