RTHA Units with Wye-Delta Starters
Removal of Existing Starter
WARNING
Hazardous Voltage!
Disconnect all electric power, including remote
disconnects before servicing. Follow proper lockout/
tagout procedures to ensure the power can not be
inadvertently energized. Failure to disconnect power
before servicing could result in death or serious injury.
The following components of an Wye -Delta starter need
to
be removed prior to installing the RediStart starter:
2R1-2R6 Resistors
2K1-2K4 Contactors
2U1 monitor
Optional voltage/current meters
Figure 5, p. 8 shows the basic layout of the Wye-Delta
starter with
the components that need to be removed
highlighted.
Note: If the optional v
oltage/
current meters are mounted
on the cabinet door, they must be removed for the
new starter to fit properly. Once the meters are
removed, block-off plates can be obtained locally.
Install per your state and local codes.
