Why doesn’t my Tru-Test SRS2 Scanner beep when scanning a tag?
    • T
      Thomas BoydSep 10, 2025
If your Tru-Test Scanner doesn’t beep when a tag is scanned or when it is switched on, the Buzzer setting may have been disabled. To enable it, navigate to Home, then Settings, then General, and finally Buzzer. If the buzzer still doesn’t work, check that the LCD is plugged in and the backlight is working, as the buzzer uses the same supply. If both of these are fine, the beeper itself may be faulty, requiring a case replacement. In some cases, the main module might be faulty and need replacement.

Why does the battery go flat quickly on my Tru-Test SRS2 Scanner?
    • M
      markbutlerAug 22, 2025
If your Tru-Test Scanner's battery goes flat quickly, even when fully charged, the battery might be faulty. Try changing to a known good, fully charged battery and verify the stick remains on the Home screen for more than 20 hours. First, turn off the ‘Auto off’ feature by going to Settings, then General, then Auto Off, and choose Disabled. If the problem persists, the main module might be faulty and need replacement. You may need to replace the battery if required.

How to fix a Tru-Test SRS2 Scanner that doesn’t power on?
    • S
      susan67Aug 25, 2025
If your Tru-Test Scanner doesn’t power on when you press the On button, there could be several reasons. The keypad FFC might not be plugged in correctly, so check that it is correctly plugged into connector P105. The keypad itself could be faulty; try using a known good keypad and replace the case if necessary. The battery could also be faulty; test the battery and replace it if needed. In some cases, the stick reader might have been disconnected during a firmware update; use the Data Link firmware recovery feature. As a last resort, the main module might be faulty and require replacement.

The temperature might be outside the allowed range of 0 to 45 °C; ensure you charge the device within this range. Alternatively, the battery's internal temperature sensor might be faulty; try charging with a known good battery and replace if required. In some cases, the main module itself might be faulty and require replacement.

Why is my Tru-Test SRS2 Scanner not vibrating when scanning a tag?
    • T
      Tracy WoodAug 29, 2025
If your Tru-Test Scanner isn’t vibrating when a tag is scanned, it could be because the Vibrator setting has been disabled. To resolve this, enable the Vibrator setting using the keypad to navigate to Home, then Settings, then General, and finally Vibration. If the setting is enabled and it still doesn't vibrate, the vibrator motor might be faulty, and you should consider replacing it.
