Why does my Tru-Test Scanner only scan an EID tag for a short time?
    • S
      Stephanie LaneSep 3, 2025
If your Tru-Test Scanner only scans an EID tag for a short time, it is likely because the Read Mode is set to Standard or Single. This is normal operation for these modes. In Standard and Single read modes, the stick reader will stop scanning after 3 seconds if no tag is read, unless you hold the Scan key. If you want continuous scanning, set the Read Mode to Continuous. To change the Read Mode, go to Home, then Settings, then Tag Reading.

Why does my Tru-Test Scanner switch off unexpectedly?
    • J
      Jennifer NielsenSep 1, 2025
If your Tru-Test Scanner has switched off unexpectedly, it is likely due to the auto power off feature, which is enabled by default. To change this, use the keypad to go to Home, then Settings, then General, then Auto Off, and press the ‘Scan/Select’ button to disable the auto power down or select a different auto power off period. Alternatively, the battery may be too low, so recharge it using the USB power adapter.

      Maria RobertsAug 31, 2025

Why is my Tru-Test Scanner not vibrating when scanning a tag?
    • B
      Brian SchultzAug 29, 2025
If your Tru-Test Scanner isn’t vibrating when a tag is scanned, it could be because the Vibrator setting has been disabled. To resolve this, enable the Vibrator setting using the keypad to navigate to Home, then Settings, then General, and finally Vibration. If the setting is enabled and it still doesn't vibrate, the vibrator motor might be faulty, and you should consider replacing it.

    • W
      williamsconnieAug 23, 2025
If your Tru-Test Scanner's battery goes flat quickly, even when fully charged, the battery might be faulty. Try changing to a known good, fully charged battery and verify the stick remains on the Home screen for more than 20 hours. First, turn off the ‘Auto off’ feature by going to Settings, then General, then Auto Off, and choose Disabled. If the problem persists, the main module might be faulty and need replacement. You may need to replace the battery if required.
