TROUBLESHOOTING
The following is a list of the most frequent fault conditions and the possible corrective action. If you are not able to
resolve a problem please contact us toll free at 855-TO-BUY-TRU (855-862-8987) before removing the unit from the wall.

PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
No hot water Circuit breakers o
Startup Lockout mode
Not enough flow rate to

• Turn circuit breaker on
• Needs two (2) minutes of flow aer being powered up
• Increase flow over .02GPM
• Turn water on
• Verify by visual indication at Flow Sensor

Too high of flow rate
Flow Meter clogged
Inlet screen clogged
• Verify that the main breaker and MODEL TR/TC circuit breakers are on.
ON is red, OFF is green.
• Adjust Temp setting. Optimal temp setting is 115º - 120º F (46.1º - 48.8º C)
• Adjust Use Limits – Time and Flow
• If condition persists, notify your licensed contractor or
authorized service technician.
• Replace element
• Decrease flow rate at point of use
• Disconnect the power and water to the unit.
• Remove the cover of the unit by loosening the four screws
(two at top and two at bottom)
• Remove the flow meter face-plate (Allen wrench required).
• Remove the O-ring. Remove the white flywheel.
• Clean the flow meter parts and internal housing. Reinstall; make sure the associated
O-ring is properly seated. A thin coat of lubricant will help to seat the seal. DO NOT
overtighten Allen screws when reassembling.
• If condition persists, notify your licensed contractor or authorized service technician.
• Clean inlet screen at unit
Alarms/Alerts Thermal Cut Out Failed
Temperature Sensor Failed
Unit Leaking
• Thermal Cut Out Switch will reset automatically once out temp decreases.
• Reduce Temperature Setpoint
• Inspect “FAIL”ed sensor for connectivity (requires removing the cover)
• If condition persists, notify your licensed contractor or authorized service technician.
• Turn o unit at main breaker and notify your licensed contractor or authorized service
technician.
