TEMPERATURE CONTROL SPECIFICATIONS - DOUBLE
THROW ICE MAKER THERMOSTAT
These temperature controls use double throw, single pole relays. The sensing tube is inserted into the ice
maker mold and senses mold temperature. After ice is sensed in the mold, the contacts at pins 2 and 3
open (stopping the compressor and condenser fan motor) and the contacts at pins 2 and 1 close (starting
the ice maker motor). The 2-3 contacts change state before the end of the ice harvest cycle. This prepares
the control for the next cycle.
The compressor motor and the ice maker motor CANNOT operate at the same time because of the relay
contact configuration.
