Why am I getting a 'Not Available' reading for the battery or ambient temperature sensor on my Unipower Control Unit?
A 'Not Available' reading for the battery or ambient temperature sensor can be due to a faulty sensor or cable, a reversed sensor connector, or no sensor installed. Try turning the cable connector around and reconnecting it. If that doesn't work, replace the faulty sensor assembly.
What could cause the Unipower Control Unit to indicate 0A battery current when more than 5A is flowing, or inaccurate readings at low currents?
This can occur if the DC hall effect transducer or wiring is faulty, or if the current transducer sensitivity is too low for a 1A measurement. To resolve this, service the DC current transducer in the BDM. Check that the wiring is intact and still connected properly, or replace the DC CT if it is suspected to be faulty. Also, revise the size of the DC CT full-scale value for the size of the load and battery charging requirements.
Why is there no output current from the rectifiers, and the green LED on each rectifier of Unipower Control Unit blinks occasionally?
The absence of output current from the rectifiers, accompanied by occasional blinking of the green LED on each rectifier, typically indicates that the AC power is either below 70VAC or above 320VAC. To resolve this, check that the AC supply voltage and connection arrangement are correct and match the expected system supply wiring.
What to do if one rectifier has an “UNCAL RECTIFIER” alarm on Unipower Control Unit?
The Controller has not been able to make the unit share the load with the other units. Either the RECTIFIER is faulty (excessive internal voltage drop) and cannot be adjusted to share load, or it is too far out of calibration. Replace the rectifier module or send the unit for repair and re-calibration.
