Current Loop Measurement (4...20 mA)
In order to observe processes, for example, the instru-
ments of the UNITEST Hexagon 700 series allow to carry
out a current loop measurement within the range of
4...20mA with a display capacity between 0...100 %.
" Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and
the red test lead to the mA/µA socket.
" Select DC type of current pressing the key.
" Connect the test leads to UUT.
" The measurement result is displayed in mA.
" Press key for longer than one second.
The current loop is indicated in percent (4...20 mA corre-
sponds to 0...100 %)
The multimeters UNITEST Hexagon 710 and Hexagon
720 are equipped with an acoustic socket control fea-
ture (ABK) [ASC]. When wrongly connecting a test
lead, an acoustical signal is audible and the message
InERR is displayed.
5.10 Frequency Measurement
If the [~Hz] key is pressed during measurements, the fre-
quency momentarily present is indicated for all voltage and
current measurements.
Voltage and current measurements have to be carried out
in compliance with the paragraphs previously described..
6.0 RS-232 Interface
The multimeters UNITEST Hexagon 710 / 720 are equipped
with an infrared / RS-232 interface.
The software optionally available including interface
adapter allow transmission of measurement values to a PC
for further processing.
