6 - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
3 - IMPORTANT WARNINGS
3.1 - INSTALLATION IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT
Only the compressor of the SPLIT models can be installed in the engine room. If this is the case,
please consider that the air-conditioner can generate sparks (switches, relays, etc...) To prevent
the risk of explosions, it is necessary to run the engine room extractors at least 10 minutes before
starting the air-conditioning system and keep the extractors running all the time the air-conditioner
runs.
3.2 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Only a qualified engineer can troubleshoot the system respecting the safety rules.
3. 3 - MULTIPLE INSTALLATIONS
For a system including more than one compressor it is necessary to set the time delay of each air-
conditioner at 5 seconds one from another.
4 - MAINTENANCE
For an satisfactory functioning of the air-conditioner, we recommend the following checks and
maintenance. The frequency can change according to the installation place, the pollution and the
use of the air-conditioner.
- Clean the sea water filter every week
- Clean the air filter every month.
- Clean the condensate drains every month.
- Check the functioning and tightness of the sea water pump every season
- Clean the condensate pan every year.
- Clean the sea water intake every year.
- Replace the batteries (VEGA MK II infra-red remote control) every year.
All the maintenance operations must be executed by a qualified service dealer with the system off
and power supply cut off
- Check water connections every year.
- See also the "Installation Manual".
4.1 - CONDENSATE WATER AND ITS DRAIN
During the cooling cycle air-conditioners produce
condensate water. Check periodically that there are no
leaks or obstructions on the condensate drains and that the
condensate water drains regularly. Pour in the condensate
pan some water and check that it drains regularly. If the
condensate water drains to the bilge, it is better to let it flow
in a limited space and pump it out continually to avoid
stagnation that can cause unpleasant smells.
4.2 - AIR FILTER
The filter on the air intake (B) must be periodically cleaned and/or replaced. This filter avoids the
obstruction of the air-conditioner air heat exchanger. The maintenance frequency depends on the
running hours and on the air pollution. We suggest to clean the filter every month. An obstructed air
filter reduces the system efficiency in cooling mode (COOL). In the heating cycle (RC models) a
dirty air filter can block the system because of the high pressure; in EH models with electrical
resistance it can block the system because of the intervention of an internal safety device.
