A short power-supply cord (or detached power-supply cord) is provided to reduce risks
resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable powersupply cord or extension cord may be purchased and used if care
is exercised in their use.
If an extension cord or longer detachable power cord is used:
(a) The marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least or greater than the
electrical rating of the appliance.
(b) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a groundingtype
3-wire cord.
(c) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table
top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
DO NOT let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or countertop.
DO NOT let the power cord touch hot surfaces, or become knotted or tangled.
To disconnect the Brew button at any time, remove the plug from the wall outlet.

Ensure that the surface where the appliance operates is stable, level, clean, and dry. DO NOT
place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
WARNING: Always make sure your mug or travel mug is positioned properly to accept
the dispensed hot liquid. Overflow can lead to scalding hazards.
Scalding may occur if the Pod Brew Area is opened during the brewing process.
Never put your hands directly on hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. Care must be taken,
as burns can occur from touching hot parts or from spilled, hot liquid.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, never remove the bottom cover of
the coffee maker, there are no userserviceable parts inside. Repair should be done by
authorized service personnel only.
