Awellfunctioningandmaintainedcoolingsystemisasimportanttotheengineas
performingregularoilchangesorusinggoodfuel.Togetthebestresultusequalityproducts
andservicethesystematthecorrectintervals.Pleasereadthissectioncarefully.
Keeptheradiator(includingchargeaircooler)andthefrontalareafreefrombugs,dirt,
leaves,etc.
Checkthecoolantlevelinthetankregularly.Fillthetankasnecessarywiththecorrect
coolant.
Inspectionofthewholecoolingsystemisimportant.Checkforswollenordeteriorated
heaterandradiatorhoses,loosehoseclampsandconnections,andradiatorleaks.

DONOTworknearthefanwiththeengine
running.Theenginefancanengageatany
timewithoutwarning.Anyonenearthefan
whenitturnsoncouldbeseriouslyinjured.

Additives
Additiveshelppreventrust,scaleandmineraldepositsfromforming.Additivesalso
protectmetalsfromcorrosion,preventwaterpumpandcylinderlinercavitationandcontain
anti-foamingagents.Additivesaredepletedduringnormalengineoperationandneedtobe
replaced.Fornon-extendedlifecoolantmixture,thismeanstheadditionofSupplemental
CoolantAdditives(SCA)atanytimetheadditivegoesbelowtherecommendedlevel.For
extendedlifecoolantmixture,thismeansanextenderpackageaddedhalfwaythrough
thecoolantlifetime.
