EX1200 Series Maintenance 113
Trigger Delay: indicates the delay, in seconds, that occurs between connecting a switch
channel to the DMM and when the measurement is taken. Valid values are 0 s to
4294.967295 s. An option to select Auto appears when this field is selected. Auto delay
allows the DMM to automatically set the trigger delay based on the measurement
configuration.
Gain: Indicates the m in an mx+b calculation performed on the measurement data before it is
returned.
Offset: Indicates the b in an mx+b calculation performed on the measurement data before it is
returned.
New button: Adds a new DMM configuration.
Delete button: Removes the selected DMM configuration.
Done button: Closes the DMM Configuration Manager dialog box.
Notes on Web Page Use
The DMM Configuration Manager only shows the most common options. To fully configure the
DMMs, select the DMM tab and use its Save/Load/Delete buttons.
Trigger Properties Field
From the Trigger Properties field, the user configures the various triggering capabilities of the
scan engine.
Scan/Step Trigger In: For the Scan Trigger, the scan engine waits for the selected event to
occur before starting each iteration of the scanlist. For the Step Trigger, the scan engine will
wait for the selected event to occur before starting each scan-step.
Immediate: When selected, the scanner proceeds through immediately, without waiting for
any external signal.
Software: When selected, the scanner proceeds through the scanlist in steps and will wait for
a software trigger before executing the next scan step or scanlist iteration.
LXI0 LXI7: Indicates the LXI Trigger bus line that will advance the scanner to the next
step or scanlist iteration.
LAN0 LAN7: Indicates the LAN event that will advance the scanner to the next step or
scanlist iteration.
DIO0 DIO7: Indicates the digital I/O channel that will advance the scanner to the next step
or scanlist iteration.
Alarm0: Indicates the Alarm event that will advance the scanner to the next step or scanlist
iteration.
Notes on Web Page Use
It is important to only send triggers other than Immediate when the EX1200 is expecting to
receive triggers. If the period of an alarm is set too fast, if the Send Software Trigger button is
clicked when the EX1200 is not in the Waiting for Trigger state, etc. the scan engine will flag an
error and abort the scan.
To wait for a trigger between measurements, place these triggers in separate scan steps (i.e.,
separate rows in the Scanlist table). The Step Trigger In field triggers advances between scan
steps.
