FIGURE 9-4: INSTRUMENT CONNECTIVITY FOR EX1200 DMM CALIBRATION
Once the standards have been connected, the following connections should be made to the
EX1200:
8) Connect the EX1200 LAN port to the Ethernet switch using an Ethernet cable.
9) Connect the function generator, external DMM, and calibrator to the DMM as shown in
Figure 9-5 using the EX1200 DMM calibration/verification cable (VTI P/N: 52-0807-000).
FIGURE 9-4: EX1200 CONNECTIVITY TO REFERENCE STANDARDS
NOTE Be certain that the calibrator is in standby mode (i.e. not outputting) before the cables are
connected to eliminate the possibility of having the function generator and calibrator generating
outputs at the same time while shorted together.
CONNECTING TO THE EX1200
There are three ways to connect to the EX1200: using the IP address of the EX1200, using
Bonjour for auto-discovery, or using the Agilent Connection Expert (ACE). For more information
on obtaining the EX1200’s IP address and using this as the connection method, refer to the
Network Configuration discussion in Section 2. To connect to the EX1200 via Bonjour, refer to
Section 7: Web Page Operation.
