Auto Delay checkbox: When enabled, the DMM delays the measurement until it detects that
its inputs have settled.
Delay: Indicates the time, in seconds, the DMM will wait after getting a trigger input event
before proceeding to the Sample Trigger layer. Valid values are -1.0 and 0 to
4294.967295. When set to -1.0 this is equivalent to using Auto Delay.
Sample Trigger: Specifies the sample trigger event that cause the DMM to take additional
measurements. For every sample trigger event, the DMM takes one measurement.
Source: Specifies the event type that will cause a sample trigger event. These include
Immediate, External, Software, Interval, and the DMM backplane lines (BPL0 7).
Route: This button appears when a backplane line (BPL0 7) is selected for Source.
Clicking this button launches a dialog box that allows the user to select an external
trigger line (LXI0 7, DIO0 7, LAN0 7, or ALARM0) to connect to the chosen
backplane line.
Slope: For hardware trigger lines, this parameter indicates the slope of level change, either
Rising or Falling, that will cause a sample trigger event.
Count: Indicates the number of sample triggers that will be accepted before returning to the
Trigger layer. Valid values are -1 and 1 to 2,147,483,647, where “-1sets an infinite
count.
Delay: Indicates the time, in seconds, the DMM will wait after getting a sample trigger event
before it performs a measurement. Valid values are 0.0 to 4294.967295.
Interval: When Interval is selected as the Source, this indicates the time, in seconds,
between sample trigger events. Valid values are 0.0 to 4294.967295.
Trigger Output: These parameters specify the trigger events generated by the DMM.
Measurement Complete: Upon completion of a measurement, the selected event will occur.
These events include None, External, and BPL0 7.
Over Limit: When a measurements exceeds the High and/or Low Limit settings, the selected
trigger event is asserted. These include None, External, and BPL0 7.
Route: This button appears when a backplane line (BPL0 7) is selected for Source.

trigger line (LXI0 7, DIO0 7, LAN0 7, or ALARM0) to connect to the chosen
backplane line.
High Limit: Indicates the upper bound of the Over Limit event.
Low Limit: Indicates the lower bound of the Over Limit event.
Notes on Web Page Use
If a measurement has been initiated and seems to be stuck in the Waiting For Trigger state, check
the Trigger Properties field. In order for a scan to begin immediately without interaction with
other instrumentation, both inputs (the Trigger Input Source and Sample Trigger Source) should
be set to Immediate.
If the EX1200 stops taking measurements unexpectedly, check the Trigger Input Count and
Sample Trigger Count settings. They control the number of measurements taken before the
DMM needs to be initiated again.
Advanced Settings
Math: Allows the user to make corrections to the measurement readings using an mx + b
equation.
Gain: Sets the gain correction factor. Represents the m in the mx + b equation. The default
value is gain = 1.
Offset: Sets the offset correction factor. Represents the b in the mx + b equation. The default
value is gain = 0.
NOTE Incorrectly setting the gain and offset parameters can result in invalid measurements.
