Low-Resistance Measurements
When making low-resistance measurements and using switch cards, it is important the type of
relay being used by the switch card. Solid-state relays tend to have a higher input impedance and
more capacitance than mechanical relays, making mechanical relays preferable when performing
measurements of this type. Solid state switches also have leakage currents that should be
accounted for when measuring resistance or high-impedance voltage sources.
