Bleeding the fuel system
If fuel comes into contact with hot engine parts or the muffler, there is an
increased
Fire hazard!
☞Never bleed the fuel system if the engine is hot!
Bleed the fuel system in the following cases:
• After removing and fitting the fuel filter, prefilter or the fuel lines back on again
• After running the fuel tank empty
• After running the engine again, after it has been out of service for a longer period of
time.
☞Bleed the fuel system as follows:
☞Park the vehicle on level and horizontal ground
☞Stop the engine
☞Fill the fuel tank
☞Open fuel filter valve A by turning the lever to the bottom onto O
☞Loosen the drain plugs of fuel filter C
☞Retighten drain plugs C as soon as there is no more air
☞Actuate manual pump B of the fuel feed line
➥until fuel comes out of the filter without any air
☞Tighten screw C again with a suitable tool
☞Loosen drain plug B above the fuel injection pump with a suitable tool
☞Retighten drain plug B as soon as there is no more air
☞Starts the engine
