6. Remove the end cap (b) from the generator.
7. Check if the stator windings are shorted to the rotor winding by checking the
continuity between each wire (red, white, blue, and brown) and the rotor winding
at the slip rings (c).
Is there continuity between any of the wires and the rotor winding?
The stator windings have now been checked. Continue with checking the rotor
winding.

The stator windings have failed; replace the stator. Continue.
