2. Remove the control panel.
3. Measure the resistance of the current transformer by measuring across the two
wires of the current transformer (c). One of the wires is connected to a ground
stud (d). The other is connected to the auto idle switch (e).
Does the current transformer measure 70–73 Ohms?
Checking the
switch
Follow the procedure below to check the switch.
1. Check for 12VDC incoming to the switch.
2. Check for 12VDC outgoing from the switch when the switch is in the ON
position.
Does the switch perform as stated above?
The auto idle circuit has now been checked. Reassemble the generator.
Yes ____ No ____
The current transformer is OK; continue. The current transformer has failed;
replace it.
Yes ____ No ____
The switch is OK. The switch has failed; replace it.
