Why is my Wacker Neuson M1500 Engine drive motor running normally but overheating?
    • D
      Darren RoseAug 11, 2025
The drive motor may be overheating due to several reasons. The filter element or air inlet could be obstructed; try removing any dirt and, if needed, replace the filter element. Another cause might be too much special lubricant in the connected flexible shaft; remove the excess lubricant with a cloth, or replace the flexible shaft. Also, check for too much oil in the vibrator head and remove any excess.

If your HMS isn't working, there could be a few reasons. First, check the power cable for any damage and have it replaced if it's defective. Another possible cause is worn carbon brushes, which would need to be exchanged. Also, the ON/OFF switch might be defective and require replacement. Ensure the electric power supply safeguard is activated. Finally, a burned-out drive motor could be the issue, requiring its replacement.

A drive motor running slowly and overheating can stem from several issues. The input voltage might be too low, so ensure the correct supply voltage is established. The extension cable's cross-section might be too small; use a cable with a sufficient cross-section. An incorrect combination of vibrator head and flexible shaft could be the cause; use a combination according to the table in chapter Technical Data. Also, the shaft core of the flexible shaft might not be sufficiently lubricated, so lubricate it. The bearing of the vibrator head or the drive system could be worn, requiring replacement of equipment parts. Also, the rotor may be grinding on the stator.
