Configuring the e-SAT/IN module
The e-SAT/IN module must be activated and configured on the acquisition
computer that is presently running the acquisition software. The e-SAT/IN
module is supported with Waters Empower software.
Before you can create a chromatography system and configure an instrument
method, you should:
• Ensure that the e-SAT/IN module is connected properly to the
chromatography system.
• Log in to the Empower application.
Creating a chromatography system
You can create a chromatography system configuration at the acquisition
computer.
You need to access the Instruments tab of the Acquisition Server Properties
page of the Configuration Manager, and scan for instruments. Once the
e-SAT/IN module is displayed and Ok ? is Yes, then a chromatography system
can be created. After creating a system, you can set up or edit the instrument
method. Refer to the Empower Help for details how to create a
chromatography system.
When configured correctly, the e-SAT/IN module will be listed in the Available
Instruments window in the New Chromatographic System Wizard, System
Selection page.
Configuring Empower software for the e-SAT/IN module
Using the Instrument Method Editor, create or modify an instrument method
for the e-SAT/IN module. Empower software has two modes of operation that
contain the Instrument Method Editor:
• Empower Pro interface
• Empower QuickStart interface
