What to do if there is no ignition arc established in Wayne Burner?
    • R
      Robert WhiteAug 12, 2025
If there is no ignition arc established in your Wayne Burner, you should reset the control, making sure the motor starts and completes a 30-second pre-purge cycle. Check for 120 volts AC between the neutral line and the junction of the blue primary control lead and the black ignition transformer lead. Inspect the electrical wiring and connections at the ignition transformer. Also, check the high voltage lead and its connection to the igniter electrode. Inspect the igniter electrode for a cracked ceramic insulator and ensure the spark gap is correct. If the issue persists, consider replacing the primary ignition control or the ignition transformer.

What to do if ignition arc is established but there is no flame in Wayne Burner?
    • J
      joshua02Aug 18, 2025
If an ignition arc is established but there is no flame in your Wayne Burner, reset the control to initiate the motor, which should complete a 30-second pre-purge cycle and a 4-second trial for ignition. Check the relationship between the orifice and air settings to ensure they are correct. Inspect the electrical wiring and connections. Make sure the leads are connected to the correct gas valve terminals. Check for the correct manifold regulated pressure. If these steps don't resolve the issue, consider replacing the primary ignition control or the gas valve.

Why Wayne Burner motor does not start?
    • R
      rachelmorganAug 25, 2025
If the Wayne Burner motor doesn't start, begin by checking the voltage input to ensure it's at 120 VAC. Also, examine the continuity through the 24-volt T-STAT, if one is being used. If the burner cycles on and off through a 120V circuit, the T-T terminals must have a jumper wire. Check the low voltage transformer for a 24-volt output. Verify that there are 120 volts AC between terminal 2 and ground, and between terminal 4 and ground on the motor start relay. Inspect the electrical wiring and connections. If the motor shaft doesn't turn freely, lubricate the motor bearings if applicable. If problems persist, the motor may need replacement.

What to do if there is no ignition and no gas flow in Wayne Burner?
    • A
      Amy YoungAug 30, 2025
If there is no ignition and no gas flow in your Wayne Burner, reset the control. The motor should start, and after a 30-second pre-purge cycle, the motor continues to run, but no flame is established. Check for 24 volts AC at the 24-volt primary control input terminals labeled '24V' and 'GND (24V)'. If there is no voltage, replace the transformer. Also, check the air proving switch for any impairment that would prevent it from closing or opening correctly.

    Why Wayne Burner cycles erratically?
    • A
      Angela FloresSep 4, 2025
If your Wayne Burner cycles erratically, check the thermostat installation and location to ensure they are proper. If it is an adjustable type, set the anticipator to the correct value. Check the low voltage circuit for bad wiring, electrical connections, and/or switches. Also, check the line voltage circuit for any bad wiring, electrical connections, and/or switches.
