NO IGNITION – NO GAS FLOW
Wayne Control Error Codes
3. Check for 24VAC across the
primary control terminals labeled
“VALVE” and “GND (VALVE)”.
Note: Voltage must be checked during
the 4 second trial for ignition.
Check for 24 volts AC at the 24 volt primary control input
terminals labeled “24V” and “GND (24V)”.
1. Check for 24 volts AC at the 24 volt primary control
input terminals labeled yellow and brown.
Check air proving switch for:
a. Any impairment that would keep it from closing
or opening.
b. Electrical continuity; switch is normally open.
c. Replace switch as necessary.
Check (when applicable) external 30
second pre-purge timer (jumper
around timer from air switch). Should
primary ignition control become
energized, replace timer.
Check the 24VAC transformer
for 24 volt output. If no voltage,
replace transformer. Check
connections between
transformer and ignition control.
Reset Control – Motor starts- After 30 second pre-purge cycle, motor continues to run but
flame is not established.
In order for the following functional test to be made, the control must reset and the tests
monitored during the 4 second trial for ignition that occurs at the end of the 30 second
prepurge cycle.
If using a Wayne control, check the diagnostic LED for an error code. If a “LINE VOLTAGE
ERROR,” is indicated check the connection between earth ground and the burner chassis.
