5.5Pulling(spreaders,Combidevices)
Aerthechainset(asexplainedinchapter4.7)hasbeenmountedonthespreaderps,the
combidevicecanalsobeusedforpulling.
Forthis,thechainsmustbeghtlytensionedandmustbetensedonlyinthepullingdirecon.
Totensionthechain,onlyonelockcanbepressedin,sothatthechaincanbepulledthrough
the holder.
Iftherangeofmovementisnotsucient,tensionchainsorothermeansmustbeusedsothat
the spreader can be reopened and the chain retensioned.
Storethepullingchainswithlocksmountedabout10–20cmfromtheend.
Checkthechainspriortoeveryuse.Checkthattheweightdoesnotstress
thepofthehook,butliesinthemiddleofthehookinstead.

» Donotstressthechainsbeyondthepermiedloadcarrying
capacity.
» Donotloadwithajerkingmovement.
» Donotgalvanizeorpaintthechains.
